Job description

In an apprentice role you will work on exciting, ground-breaking projects from day one, with support to grow in your chosen discipline as well as training to develop the core skills needed to succeed in a professional organisation. Our early careers programme gives you the chance to connect with others across the region / business who are also starting their career, as well as mentoring, Chartership suppors and more., This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious individual to join an established and growing environment team. Working across the UK and internationally our qualified environmental experts play a pivotal role in the welfare of project related environments, making sure plans are fully researched and accurately managed across all areas. Noise, poor air quality, lighting and odour can all act as pollutants which may need to be controlled or mitigated to protect sensitive environments. We offer a comprehensive service to suit individual clients such as developers, businesses, builders and local authorities, as well as to support the wider team on major programmes. We survey, assess and advise on specific situations, including acting as expert witness at hearings and inquiries. We use innovative computer-based modelling techniques to predict future levels of noise, air and light pollutants and model future development scenarios. We provide a quick response and innovative solutions to noise or pollution constraints, often saving money or enabling greater developable areas by carefully evaluating the best benefiting mitigation or designs. We take pride in delivering projects effectively for clients. This often requires colleagues to be together- in offices or on site - to ensure the best outcomes. However, when possible, we also advocate for flexibility around how, when, and where you work. There is no "one approach fits all" - each team manages their own way of working, we trust our employees and focus on outputs not inputs. Meeting up with colleague and clients face to face in office environments or on site is important for collaboration, face-to-face meetings, appraisals and development.

The typical duration for this apprenticeship is 60 months but this will depend on previous experience. Successful apprentices will gain a BSc (Hons) Environmental Management Qualification/skills:

  • A minimum of Five GCSE's at grade C/4 or above including Maths and English
  • Three A levels at Grades A-C including Science or their equivalent (112 UCAS points)
  • An interest in the environment
  • Experience in using Microsoft Applications
  • Self-Motivated

Are you looking for an exciting, interesting career role where you can help make a difference for the future.
