A leading engineering company in Burton upon Trent is looking for an Apprentice Rail Engineering Technician in a Fixed Term position. You will receive robust training and mentoring over a 51-month apprenticeship, including academic studies and varied on-the-job experiences. Responsibilities include working with experienced technicians to develop fault-finding skills and complete college requirements. A minimum of 5 GCSEs, including Maths, English, and Science, is required for this opportunity. A competitive salary of £20,000 is provided.

Your future role
This is an opportunity to join a world-leading engineering company through a well-established 51 month (to include End Point Assessment) Apprenticeship Development Programme. You will work alongside experienced professionals and receive strong support, mentoring and coaching while developing against the Apprenticeship Standard.
The programme includes placements across multiple departments to build a broad understanding of the business. Placements are planned to support your development and provide a varied, rewarding experience.
The role of an Apprentice Rail Engineering Technician is a development role towards becoming a Technician. This will involve working with established technicians on both Live and Dead trains to establish failure modes through extensive fault finding as well as rectification work on Trains to develop the skills required to become a stand alone Technician - This role is a dual skilled role and so will involve both Mechanical and Electrical fault finding and Rectification
Academic college studies will be combined with real life work-based experience across our organisation. Your qualification will be completed at Siemens Mobility - training will be carried out within the workplace. The remainder of the time is spent at work is where you will have the opportunity to build and gather evidence of your competence whilst working towards a formal qualification.
