Job description

WA Consultants is seeking an experienced Applications Engineer to join our client on an initial 6‑month contract. This hybrid role requires attendance in Taunton 1–2 days per week.

Role Overview

You will be responsible for the administration, configuration, and ongoing support of SaaS-based collaboration and development tools. The role combines technical expertise with service management best practice, ensuring reliable and efficient application performance across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer and configure SaaS platforms such as GitHub, Atlassian (Jira, Confluence), Lucid, and Mural
• Provide application support, including monitoring, troubleshooting, and incident resolution
• Manage incidents and service requests in alignment with ITIL principles and established service management processes
• Act as a technical escalation point for complex queries and issues
• Support and mentor junior team members, encouraging knowledge sharing and continuous development
• Contribute to service improvement initiatives and operational best practices

Key Skills & Experience

• Hands‑on experience administering and configuring SaaS-based DevOps tooling (e.g., GitHub, Jira, Confluence, Lucid, Mural)
• Strong background in application support within a structured IT service environment
• Solid understanding of ITIL principles and service management best practices
