Job summary

A leading trading firm in Greater London is seeking an experienced Application Support Analyst for a 6-month contract. You will provide end-to-end application support within a fast-paced trading environment, managing incidents and ensuring system stability. The ideal candidate has strong experience in application support on trading floors and can thrive under pressure. This role requires on-site presence two days a week near St James' Tube Station, with a competitive daily rate of £400-£500.

Qualifications

Application Support Analyst

6-Month Contract | Inside IR35 | £400-£500 per day

We are looking for an experienced Application Support Analyst to join a fast-paced trading environment on an initial 6-month contract, with strong potential to extend. The role will require you to be on site 2 days per week in Lond not far from St James' Tube Station.

This role has arisen due to the current application support team being seconded onto a major project scheduled to run for 6-12 months, creating the need for an experienced contractor to backfill BAU support activities and ensure continuity of service.

The Role

You’ll be responsible for the end-to-end ownership of application issues, supporting critical business systems within a trade floor/trading environment. This is a hands-on role suited to someone comfortable operating in high-pressure, time-sensitive settings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide BAU application support for front and Middle Office and Front Office systems
  • Own incidents from initial triage through to resolution
  • Work closely with traders, operations, and technology teams
  • Perform root cause analysis and drive permanent fixes
  • Monitor applications and ensure platform stability
  • Support releases, fixes, and production changes where required
Required Experience
  • Strong background in Application Support within a trade floor/investment banking/trading/commodities environment
  • Experience supporting business-critical applications in Real Time settings
  • Proven ability to manage issues end to end with minimal oversight
  • Excellent communication skills and confidence working directly with Front Office users
