Job summary

A leading aviation service provider is seeking an AOG Buyer/Planner at its Biggin Hill Service Center. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in aviation, specifically knowledge of Bombardier aircraft, and experience with SAP systems. Qualifications

  • Track record of working in a similar position.
  • Knowledge of UK CAA, EASA, GCAA, and FAA regulations is desirable.
  • Experience with aircraft maintenance knowledge is desirable.

Bombardier’s Business Aircraft London Service Centre in Biggin Hill is part of an award-winning network and is the flagship of Bombardier’s European operation. This Base and Line Maintenance Centre is the fastest-growing Service Centre in Europe and the largest Business Aircraft OEM in the UK. The facility has the capabilities to perform an array of maintenance checks, modifications and upgrades all from this site. Only 14 miles from London, Bombardier’s Biggin Hill Service Centre is ideally located to support operators in the UK region and beyond.

What are your contributions to the team?
  • Review and accept work in accordance with the Organisation’s approved Scope of Work
  • Prepare and provide a quotation to customers for the maintenance request when needed.
  • Liaise with the OPS Manager/AOG Coordinator for planning of scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, hanger access (if required) and allocation of manpower resources
  • Consider human performance limitations, Critical Maintenance Tasks, Independent Inspections, Identical Maintenance Tasks, CDCCL, ETOPS or tasks otherwise critical to aircraft operations, when planning work;
  • Create work packages (Work Orders) in SAP and compilation of physical workpack including the scheduled and drop-in aircraft for maintenance task(s) execution.
  • Support in generating the Work Orders in Pivotal and update the status on the weekly basis as well as when aircraft return to service.
  • Coordinate with store clerk on the availability of required GSE/tooling and communicate with warehouse/ supply chain, on any assistance required for their onwards arrangement and execution.
  • Contact external vendor for price and availability of consumables/parts and services (NDT inspection, tire change, battery restoration) and ensure correct price is being charged and proper certification received
  • Raising PR/PO as required for aircraft work and tracking of materials till delivered
  • PO for stock replenishment and various other services
  • Review and research aircraft documents but not limited to Aircraft/Engine Logbooks, Approved Engineering Orders, Aircraft/Engine/Component Service Bulletins and Airworthiness Directives pertaining to the assigned aircraft as well as incoming aircraft when make available.
  • Support the Maintenance Manager in communication with Invoice Analysts on the warranty and special program and give support to the preparation of invoicing as and when required.
  • Ensure proper completion of work packs prior to closing and issuance of a CRS;
  • Ensure the customer is supplied with details and agreed data entries to update aircraft, engine, APU logbooks, and computerised records as agreed;
  • Take on other duties within your capability as required.
How to thrive in this role?
  • You will have a track record of working within a similar position (aviation experience relevant)
  • You have knowledge of the Aviation Regulations (UK CAA, EASA, GCAA and FAA) is desirable
  • You have aircraft maintenance knowledge and experience- desirable
  • You have knowledge of Bombardier aircraft- essential
  • You have experience with SAP- desirable
  • You have experience with Aircraft Maintenance Management Systems (CAMP)
  • You work closely with project team members to resolve problems with assigned projects
  • You have excellent verbal and written communication skills, including strong interpersonal skills, teambuilding skills, and you have the ability to persuade others without creating adversarial relationships
  • You have knowledge of warranty programs
