An educational organization in Banbury is seeking a part-time Animal Management Technician to ensure the day-to-day welfare of livestock and maintain cleanliness in the animal facility. This role requires a minimum level 3 qualification in animal management and experience in handling various species. You'll be crucial in catering to the animals' needs, ensuring their health and safety are prioritized. As an Animal Management Technician you will be responsible for the day to day welfare of the livestock; ensuring animal welfare is paramount and in accordance with current legislation. This will also include maintaining a high standards of cleanliness through the animal facility and support in the maintenance and care of animal stocks and facilities, ensuring that animals have sufficient food and water or catering to special dietary requirements if needed.
Banbury and Bicester College is a centre of excellence in Animal Management and our students benefit from working directly with a variety of animals including aquatics, avians including rare breed poultry, invertebrates, reptiles, a range of mammals including rabbits, marmosets and golden Guernsey goats.
This is a permanent, part-time role (FTE 0.40) working 14.8 hours based at our Banbury College.
You will have a minimum level 3 qualification in animal management and experience of working within the animal industry. This would include experience of handling a variety of animal species; i.e. companion animals, birds, fish or exotics species (snakes, lizards, amphibians, invertebrates), along with evidence of managing health and safety in the workplace.
