Summary

Love Data? Help Us Create Seamless Shopping Experiences for our Customers by Turning Insights into Action to Shape the Future of Online Shopping! We have a fantastic opportunity for a Product & Experimentation Analyst to join our dynamic Online Insights Team. In this pivotal role, you'll help shape the future of our digital products and customer experience across M&S.com and M&S Apps.

All the details

In this hands‑on technical role, you'll work cross‑functionally to uncover opportunities, steer experimentation, measure product launches, and influence key business decisions with robust and insightful analytics. You'll analyse and interpret key metrics from multiple data sources to identify trends, uncover opportunities, and provide actionable recommendations that drive innovation and product development.

You'll own the full analytical process—from data extraction to insight delivery—using your strong SQL and Python skills. Experience with Power BI (DAX, Power Query) is essential, and familiarity with Adobe Analytics and Contentsquare is a plus. If you're passionate about leveraging data to enhance our customer experience and drive digital product strategy, we'd love to hear from you!

NB: This role is based at our Paddington Support Office a minimum of three days a week as we believe that skills are developed through collaboration, and that spending time together makes us more creative and connected.

What you'll do

Your key accountabilities will include:

  • Generate actionable insights using SQL, Adobe Analytics, and Contentsquare to drive experimentation ideation and deliver measurable improvements to the end‑to‑end customer experience.
  • Identify and quantify customer friction points across the shopping funnel, guiding product prioritisation and experimentation strategies to optimise conversion.
  • Conduct detailed segmented funnel analyses to pinpoint high‑impact areas for optimisation and reduce conversion drop‑offs.
  • Evaluate product feature performance through rigorous experimentation and statistical measurement using SQL, Python, Power BI, Adobe Analytics and Contentsquare to assess business impact and inform future iterations.
  • Diagnose anomalies and performance trends, troubleshooting unexpected KPI movements and site issues to mitigate potential business impact.
Who you are

Your skills and experience will include:

  • Strong analytical mindset with excellent problem‑solving skills and the ability to interpret complex data.
  • Advanced SQL and Python skills, plus experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI (DAX, Power Query) or Tableau.
  • Ability to process and analyse data from multiple sources in a structured, logical manner, aligning insights with broader business objectives.
  • Familiarity with platforms like Adobe Analytics and Contentsquare.
  • Excellent communication skills to influence cross‑functional teams, manage multiple projects, and deliver at pace with high attention to detail.
What's in it for you?

Here are just a few of the benefits that make working here even more rewarding:

  • 20% colleague discount on all M&S products and many third‑party brands for you and someone in your household, available once you've completed your probation
  • Competitive holiday allowance with the option to buy more
  • Discretionary bonus schemes linked to your performance and ours
  • Strong pension and life assurance to help plan for the future
  • Tailored induction and training to support your development from day one
  • Exclusive perks and savings through our M&S Choices portal
