Aviation Recruitment experts Optime are searching for an experienced Aircraft Cleaners to join a well-respected and successful client at Gatwick Airport. This job offers full time hours and overtime opportunities. This is a very enjoyable role with a great company providing fantastic conditions and facilities.

PLEASE NOTE: APPLICANTS MUST HOLD A FULL VALID UK MANUAL DRIVING LICENCE

What's on offer:
  • Rate of pay: £14.00 per hour - Between 00:00am - 05:00am you will receive an additional £1.40 per hour, on top of the normal hourly rate.
  • Shift Pattern: 5 on 3 off,
  • Shift Time: 20:30pm to 06:00am - You must be fully flexible to work within these time frames.
  • Weekly Pay.
  • Temp to Perm (performance-based)

Overview:

We are seeking hardworking, reliable, and safety-conscious individuals to join our Aircraft Cleaning Team. This role is essential to ensuring aircraft are cleaned to a high standard and turned around quickly and efficiently between flights.

Important: This is a physically demanding role that includes extensive manual tasks such as bending, lifting, walking, and working in tight spaces.

Key Duties:
  • Clean aircraft cabins to airline and regulatory standards, including:
    • Vacuuming carpets and seats.
    • Cleaning and disinfecting tray tables, armrests, seatbacks, and overhead bins.
    • Emptying and sanitizing lavatories and galleys.
    • Removing and disposing of waste.
    • Replacing seat pocket materials (e.g., safety cards, magazines)
  • Restock onboard supplies such as toilet paper, hand soap, and catering items.
  • Drive cleaning vehicles safely around the airport.
  • Load and unload cleaning supplies and equipment from vehicles.
  • Follow all airport and airline safety procedures, including wearing PPE.
  • Communicate clearly with team members and supervisors regarding schedules and assignments.
  • Work in all weather conditions and be prepared for variable shift times.
Shifts:

The Airport is operational 7 days per week and candidates will be working on a 5 on 3 off rolling rota and you will need to be fully flexible with the days and hours you can work. This could be subject to change!

Example Shift Pattern:

Day 1 : 20:30pm to 06:00am

Day 2 : 20:30pm to 06:00am

Day 3 : 20:30pm to 06:00am

Day 4 : 20:30pm to 06:00am

Day 5 : 20:30pm to 06:00am

3 x DAYS OFF

Requirements:
  • Residency in the UK for the last 3 years or longer.
  • Full Manual Driving Licence (Essential)
  • Regular Driver in the UK (Essential You will be driving a van and trailer around the airport.)
  • Previous cleaning experience. (Essential)
  • Good attention to detail.
  • Good verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and use initiative, while being part of a team.
  • Right to Work in the UK.
  • Five year fully checkable reference history to be completed prior to your start date.
  • Clear UK Criminal Record Check (Ability to provide overseas Criminal Record Checks if applicable)
