Job description

We are seeking a highly skilled AI Engineer to join our expanding team of AI Engineers focused on creating AI‑driven solutions for onboarding and Know Your Customer (KYC) journeys. This role is integral to one of the bank's flagship AI programmes, aimed at enhancing the adoption of intelligent automation across the enterprise. The team is well underway, about six months into delivery, as part of the Onboarding and Know Your Customer (OBKYC) Enabler Value Stream. This team collaborates closely with business, operations, and technology stakeholders to design scalable onboarding and KYC capabilities. The initiative focuses on digitising and modernising traditionally manual processes, supporting the bank's Future State Architecture (FSA) and Digital Acceleration Programme. The role's specifics involve close collaboration with Client Lifecycle Management (CLN), focusing on onboarding and due diligence activities. A key component of this effort is Dcret, an internal tool for document scanning and data extraction currently in the QA testing phase and expected to evolve into a platform supporting various journeys within the bank. This position works in a complex, data‑rich environment requiring effective orchestration across multiple user flows, as the existing team enhances product development and delivery. Formal executive sponsorship of the initiative was established last year, to boost investment and strategic focus.

Responsibilities
  • Build production‑ready ML models for content extraction and classification from image and text data sources.
  • Design and develop Python/ML/OCR‑based components within a secure, resilient architectural framework.
  • Collaborate cross‑functionally with business stakeholders, product managers, and engineers for iterative feature development and deployment.
  • Engage in all phases of the product lifecycle, from prototyping and testing through to deployment and production support.
  • Anchor business pursuit initiatives, client training and in‑house capability building.
Qualifications
  • Strong hands‑on experience with Document AI and Intelligent Document Processing (IDP), including Generative AI and open‑source models.
  • Proven Python development experience, with a focus on ML, NLP, image processing, and OCR.
  • Familiarity with frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, Hugging Face, SpaCy, OpenCV, and Regex.
  • Proven ability to deploy secure, production‑grade code and APIs while ensuring cybersecurity and application resilience.
  • Experience with PostgreSQL.
  • Knowledge of Azure, particularly AKS, Azure CLI, DevOps pipelines, and virtual machines.
  • Track record of contributing to high‑release cadence teams.
Benefits
  • Providing our people with a supportive culture, rooted in our values and driven by our purpose.
  • Promoting a culture of inclusion, collaboration, well‑being, and learning and development.
  • Providing increased agility and flexibility within our hybrid working model.
  • Investing in employees' growth through ongoing training and development.
  • Autonomy to take ownership of projects, making decisions and demonstrating individual expertise.
  • Providing a transparent performance and career management experience.
  • Excellent compensation package.
  • Hybrid Working.
  • Enhanced family‑friendly policies.
  • Professional growth within a diverse and global environment.
  • Accelerated career pathway, development, learning and networking.
