Overview

Service Technician – Colchester. 39 hours per week (Monday–Friday). Overtime paid at time and a half after 39 hours. Salary: £15 - £19 per hour. Benefits: 32 days holiday (including bank holidays), company van, pension, life assurance, staff discount, company sick pay & flu jabs.

About the Role

My client is looking for a Service Technician to join their team, reporting directly to the Agriculture Service Manager. You’ll be responsible for the maintenance and repair of a range of agricultural and horticultural machinery supplied by the sales department, supporting customers across our designated service area.

Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and repair faults on agricultural and groundcare machinery
  • Carry out routine servicing, maintenance, and equipment inspections
  • Accurately complete job cards and related documentation
  • Liaise professionally with customers and suppliers
  • Work independently and as part of a wider team
  • Adhere to all health & safety practices and procedures
  • Provide excellent customer service, both on-site and at customer locations
What My Client Is Looking For
  • Previous experience in the agricultural, horticultural, or machinery servicing sectors
  • Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
  • Competence in using electronic diagnostic tools and basic IT systems
  • A proactive, self-motivated attitude with the ability to work under minimal supervision
  • Physically fit with a professional appearance and strong work ethic
  • A full, clean UK driving licence
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
