Job summary

A leading educational organization in Wadhurst seeks a friendly and reliable After School Club Assistant to work part-time during term time. Responsibilities include supervising children aged 4–11, leading play activities, and preparing snacks, all within a safe and engaging environment. After School Club Assistant (Part-Time, Term-Time Only)

Location: Stonegate CofE Primary School, Wadhurst, TN5
Hours: 16 hours per week (Monday–Friday, approx. 3pm–6pm)
Pay: £10.00–£12.21 per hour
Start date: ASAP

We are looking for a friendly and reliable After School Club Assistant to join our team, supporting children in a safe, fun, and welcoming after‑school environment.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with children and wants part‑time, term‑time work that fits around other commitments.

What you’ll be doing:
  • Supervising and supporting children aged 4–11
  • Leading fun and engaging play activities
  • Helping to create a safe and inclusive environment
  • Encouraging positive behaviour and social skills
  • Preparing and serving snacks
  • Following safeguarding and safety procedures
What we’re looking for:
Essential:
  • Aged 18+ (due to Ofsted and insurance requirements)
  • Experience working with children (school, nursery, childcare, youth work, or similar)
  • Friendly, patient, and reliable
  • Confident supporting children in a structured but fun environment
  • Good communication skills
Desirable (but not essential):
  • Childcare qualification (or working towards one)
  • First Aid, Safeguarding, or Food Hygiene certificates
