Advanced Practitioner Occupational Therapist

Location: SE England (based in Aylesbury – 2 days on site, remainder remote/hybrid)

Rate: £38–£40 per hour

Contract: Ongoing assignment

Caseload: Adults with long-term conditions

About the Role Pertemps are recruiting for an Advanced Practitioner – Occupational Therapy to join a friendly, innovative, and supportive community OT team in Buckinghamshire.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced OT with previous local authority community experience, who is looking to take on a senior-level role providing a responsive, equitable, and high-quality OT service.

Responsibilities
  • Undertake holistic assessments of adults with long-term conditions and their carers in home settings
  • Manage and organise your own caseload, ensuring timely assessments, reviews, and documentation
  • Recommend and oversee the provision of equipment, minor and major adaptations, and housing solutions to promote functional independence
  • Contribute to OT assessment clinics and triage functions across the county
  • Apply and develop moving and handling skills, including single-handed care techniques
  • Support case resolution through innovative, risk-reducing interventions
  • Contribute to service development projects, audits, and evidence-based practice improvements
  • Supervise and mentor staff across the integrated service, supporting professional development and best practice
  • Collaborate closely with health, housing, and social care colleagues to deliver effective, person-centred rehabilitation and outcomes
  • Engage in regular supervision and professional development, identifying training needs and areas of clinical interest
Qualifications
  • HCPC registered Occupational Therapist
  • Proven local authority community OT experience (essential)
  • Strong understanding of equipment provision, adaptations, housing legislation, and single-handed care techniques
  • Skilled in holistic assessment, caseload management, and service user-centred rehabilitation
  • Confident in supervising and mentoring colleagues and contributing to service improvement initiatives
  • Excellent communication and partnership working skills
