Advanced Clinical Pharmacist Immunology and Allergy

We are looking for a dynamic clinical pharmacist with extensive NHS post-registration experience (0.8-1 WTE), to help us deliver fantastic advanced-level pharmacy care to our Immunology and allergy patients.

Our well-established immunology and allergy service offers services to patients from across the region for patients with immunodeficiency diseases, all types of allergic disorders and Hereditary Angioedema, and is accredited by the Royal College of Physicians (QPIDS and IQAS).

Great emphasis is placed on multidisciplinary care, with specialist nurses and the pharmacy team working alongside the consultants. You will be responsible for the clinical pharmacy service to the immunology and allergy patients both on the unit and via homecare.

As well as significant post-registration experience, you'll also need a postgraduate diploma in clinical pharmacy alongside excellent clinical leadership, interpersonal and communications skills and preferably be an Independent Prescriber.

Main duties of the job

To lead, deliver, develop and evaluate clinical pharmacy services to Immunology and Allergy in accordance with the objectives set by the Principal Pharmacist and the Clinical Directorate management representative.

Contribute to the multidisciplinary Immunology and Allergyteam as a clinical practitioner, championing medicines optimisation

To deliver relevant education, training, mentorship and clinical supervision.

To be the pharmacist on the South Yorkshire and Bassetlaw Sub-Regional Immunoglobulin Assessment Panel (SRIAP)overseeing immunoglobulin use across South Yorkshire.

To contribute to the pharmacy departmental services including evenings and weekends.

Qualifications
  • Registered Pharmacist with the General Pharmaceutical Council
  • Higher degree/ Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy or equivalent postgraduate diploma in specialist area
  • Post-graduate Masters in Clinical Pharmacy (or equivalent qualification).
  • Member of Royal Pharmaceutical Society
  • Registered Independent Prescriber

  • Ability to sustain prolonged concentration despite unpredictable workload.
