Job title: Advanced Apprentice Joiner

Location: Glasgow

Salary: Starting from £18,667 with annual progression through the scheme duration.

What you'll be doing

Our Joinery programme is not the Conventional Joiner apprenticeship however you will get opportunities for wood working at college and in specific placements on site.

  • Acquire knowledge of various woodwork joints, material suitability, and finishing techniques, enhancing your versatility as a marine joiner.
  • Learn the unique skills and techniques necessary for the installation of ship furniture and fittings, distinguishing this role from conventional joinery.
  • Gain hands-on experience in metal work by installing ship furniture and cabin modules, adapting to the modern design demands of shipbuilding.
  • Receive training in the safe operation of both portable and fixed woodworking machines, ensuring proficiency in various fabrication processes.
  • Participate in comprehensive Health and Safety training, promoting a safe working environment while engaging in both metal and woodworking tasks throughout your apprenticeship.
