We are part of Suffolk Primary Care, which is a group of GP practices delivering patient care across Suffolk. We are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and flexible Administrator, with excellent interpersonal skills, to join our fantastic team at Howard House Surgery in Felixstowe.
The vacancy is for between 34-37.5 hours a week; however, this may be negotiable for the right candidate. Flexibility is crucial to accommodate training, holidays and occasional sickness.
Howard House Surgery supports in excess of 8,500 patients from a diverse range of backgrounds. We have an established team with a strong focus on customer service and on developing staff in order to deliver excellent standards of patient care. We would love to hear from candidates with healthcare experience. IT and Office experience is essential. We are keen to hear from those that can show flexibility and a range of transferable skills.
We use SystmOne and askmyGP to facilitate effective and efficient ways of working.
You should be able to work calmly and professionally as part of a team, with the ability to multi-task. A strong command of written and spoken English with an excellent telephone manner is a must. Good time management skills and the ability to follow protocols and or instruction and attention to detail is essential.

The main responsibilities of the post holder will be to ensure timely, accurate and consistent recording of the clinical information onto the surgery computer system.
Working as part of a team, the post holder will be responsible for scanning, forwarding and coding clinical correspondence.
The Administrator role is to take responsibility for administrative aspects of the practice. They are responsible for various administrative duties and accountable to the Operations Supervisor and Practice Operations Manager.

Read code relevant information onto the clinical system to include relevant QOF data and clinical information.
Accurately summarize incoming electronic and hard copy correspondence according to agreed protocols and within agreed timescales.
Respond to and complete administration SystmOne tasks in a timely manner.
Respond, complete and record administrative AMGP requests.
Process and complete deduction request, including SystmOne report, GP2GP transfer and sending of paper notes if necessary.
Ensure that the death certificate is complete and sent to the correct authority, provide any information that is needed by 3rd party on patient's death or paperwork (coroner, funeral director, family).
Scan and process hardcopy letters.
Check repeat medication, add blood requests to ICE.
Send QOF recall invites to patients and update records accordingly.
Run searches to support clinical audit work.
Deal with CAS alerts.
Provide cover for annual and sickness leave.
Undertake other reasonable duties within the framework of the post as directed by the Practice Operations Manager.
