A prominent healthcare provider in Bury St Edmunds is seeking an Administrative Clerical Assistant/Receptionist to provide essential clerical support within maternity services. You will assist midwives, manage incoming calls, and facilitate appointments. The ideal candidate has strong interpersonal skills, is proficient in English, and has experience working in a hospital setting. This is a fixed-term position for up to 6 months.
This is a key post in the provision of administrative, clerical and reception support in antenatal maternity services.
The clerk is an important and integral part of the team and applicants must be willing and able to act on their own initiative and organise their workload effectively to ensure an optimum level of efficient clerical support to the community midwifery team in a timely and accurate manner.
The post holder will have contact with patients, carers and all members of the multi-professional team, as such providing front-of-house services for the department.
This is a Fixed Term Position for up to 6 Months
Support midwives in providing care for women and their families within the maternity services.
Answers and deal with incoming telephone calls from women, relatives and staff appropriately, referring to midwifery staff as appropriate.
Checking in women who are attending antenatal/gynaecology clinics, confirming their details and following any processes.
Booking & amending appointments as requested by antenatal/gynaecology booking coordinator, Midwives, Gynaecology Nurses or Doctors
Transports items, e.g.health records between departments as required.
Participates in the rotation to all areas within maternity outpatients to provide clerical and reception cover as required.
