Overview

Adaptations Surveyor – Scale PO 2 - 4 (£39,152- £40,777 per annum). 37 hours per week. Permanent. Blackpool Coastal Housing is seeking an experienced Adaptations Surveyor to lead on the planning and delivery of property adaptation projects. This role involves managing adaptations funded through Disabled Facilities Grants and related assistance schemes and providing technical expertise and support to the team and wider stakeholders.

This post sits within the Adaptations Team, Care & Repair Department. You will take ownership of adaptation projects from start to finish, ensuring compliance with health and safety and CDM requirements, budget monitoring, quality control, and liaison with all relevant parties.

Responsibilities
  • Lead on the pre-planning of adaptation projects, including health and safety and CDM requirements.
  • Develop comprehensive project documentation (specifications, tenders, costings and schedules) and ensure adherence to BCH procedures.
  • Monitor contractor performance, lead on site meetings, and oversee delivery to ensure works meet required standards, stay within budget, and are completed on time.
  • Collaborate with Occupational Therapists, statutory agencies, internal teams and external contractors to tailor projects to individual client needs.
  • Conduct post-completion site inspections, sign off works, and contribute to project reviews and evaluations.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Degree in Building Surveying or a related profession; willingness to work towards this if not already held.
  • HNC/HND in a building or construction-related field.
  • Experience in project management, managing contractors, and conducting technical surveys.
  • Strong working knowledge of health and safety legislation, CDM 2015, and familiarity with building regulations.
  • Experience with budget monitoring and ensuring compliance with statutory obligations.
