Job description

This is an excellent opportunity for two experienced Advanced Clinicians (ACP / ANP / Paramedic Practitioner) to join a friendly, close-knit, and forward-thinking GP surgery in Hailsham, East Sussex. The practice is recruiting due to increasing patient demand and capacity growth, alongside the planned retirement of a long-standing clinician.

You’ll be joining a genuinely supportive, family‑feel team with a strong multi‑disciplinary setup and a clear focus on clinician wellbeing. The practice serves a mixed demographic, from young families through to older and frail patients, and has a strong interest in developing specialist clinician interests such as frailty, care homes, and long‑term conditions.

This is a training practice with a progressive vision for continued service development. The role would suit an autonomous clinician who enjoys acute presentations, values teamwork, and wants to help shape future models of care.

Salary - £50,000 - £57,000 FTE (DOE) + NHS Pension + 5 weeks AL (pro rata) + Study Leave

Location - Hailsham, East Sussex (BN27)

The Surgery
  • ~6,700 patients with mixed deprived and affluent population
  • Small, fit‑for‑purpose premises with on‑site parking
  • CQC rated GOOD across the board
  • EMIS clinical system
  • Strong MDT including GPs, Paramedic Practitioner, Nurses, HCAs, Pharmacy & PCN support
  • Training practice with medical students and mentoring culture
  • Excellent staff retention and supportive leadership team
  • Clear plans for future expansion into a council‑owned wellness hub
Your Role
  • 8 clinical sessions per week (flexible days)
  • Focus on acute & urgent appointments, long‑term conditions, and frailty
  • Care home reviews desirable
  • 15‑minute appointments (telephone & face‑to‑face)
  • Dedicated admin time built into the day
  • Home visits shared with the wider Paramedic team
  • Own consulting room (AM & PM)
  • Supported induction with shadowing and gradual clinic build‑up
  • Independent Prescriber preferred (or working towards)
  • Open to candidates from outside primary care with strong GP‑style presentation skills
