Overview

Job Type: Part-Time (20 hours per week). Location: OX18 area and WFH. Salary: £30,000 - £35,000 pro rata. The Burford Recruitment Company are seeking an Accounts & Tax Assistant for a modern and growing accountancy practice who provide friendly and professional services to a wide range of clients. This is a practice-based role, and applicants must have prior experience working within an accountancy firm (not solely in industry).

Responsibilities
  • Preparing year-end accounts for a variety of clients
  • Preparing and filing personal and business tax returns
  • Preparing VAT returns
  • Managing payroll and CIS returns
  • Carrying out bookkeeping tasks as required
  • Supporting our transition into MTD ITSA compliance
Qualifications and Skills
  • AAT qualified (or equivalent)
  • Previous experience in an accountancy practice is essential
  • Ability to independently manage accounts and tax compliance work
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Good understanding of small business needs
  • Self-motivated and able to work remotely with minimal supervision
