Overview

Accounts & Payroll Assistant (Part-Time) – Cambridgeshire

Part-time, Permanent Role. £22,000 - £23,000 p/a pro rata - 3 days per week (equivalent to £36,000 to £37,000 FTE).

ARC are recruiting on behalf of their client, a well-established company with a strong reputation within the construction sector, for a part-time Accounts assistant. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with finance experience who is looking for a stable, part-time role across Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.

Responsibilities
  • Processing accounts payable and receivable transactions
  • Managing purchase ledger and reconciling supplier accounts
  • Weekly and monthly bank reconciliations
  • Handling petty cash and staff expenses
  • Managing finance queries
  • Processing weekly and monthly payroll
  • Supporting quarterly VAT submissions
  • Updating employee records and maintaining accurate financial documentation
Candidate Requirements
  • Previous experience in accounts payable and payroll
  • Experience with SAGE would be highly beneficial
  • AAT Level 2 qualification preferred but not essential; equivalent experience will also be considered
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to manage workload effectively and meet deadlines
