As an Accounts Payable Team Leader based in Warrington, you will be instrumental in guiding your team towards excellence by providing consistent support and encouragement. Your daily activities will centre around ensuring that all aspects of the Accounts Payable process run smoothly—from invoice processing to payment runs—while maintaining rigorous standards of accuracy and compliance.

Specific duties include:

  • Provide day-to-day guidance and support to the Accounts Payable team, monitoring end-to-end processes and individual performance against agreed key performance indicators on a regular basis.
  • Deliver timely feedback to team members, addressing any underperformance constructively while fostering a positive and encouraging environment.
  • Ensure invoices and credits are processed accurately and efficiently, including coding, posting, and obtaining necessary authorisations for non‑purchase order invoices.
  • Oversee supplier statement reconciliations to the AP Ledger, resolving discrepancies promptly and reporting relevant accruals to the appropriate country Finance team.
  • Prepare payment runs from start to finish, liaising with internal departments as needed to guarantee correct and timely payments.
  • Model positive behaviours by embedding a high‑performance culture within the team, ensuring clear objective setting cascades throughout.
  • Allocate roles and responsibilities effectively across the team to maximise utilisation of skills using best practice workforce management principles.
  • Actively manage one of the Accounts Payable teams, completing KPI reporting weekly/monthly with support from the AP Manager.
  • Serve as an escalation contact for supplier payment matters, promoting world‑class customer service both internally and externally.
  • Support process improvements by identifying areas for enhancement in controls or procedures, collaborating closely with stakeholders on design and implementation.
