Accounts Manager - Accountancy firm

Butler Rose Public Practice are currently partnered with a well-established accounting firm based in Royston, Hertfordshire, who are seeking an experienced and qualified Accounts Manager to join their team.

The role will involve managing a portfolio of clients and providing high-quality accounting and tax services to meet their needs. You will be responsible for maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records, preparing and submitting tax returns, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, and reviewing the work of more junior staff members.

Role Requirements
  • Managing a diverse portfolio of clients (Ltd Co., sole-traders and partnerships) and building strong working relationships.
  • Preparing and reviewing financial statements under FRS102-1A and FRS105, and associated corporation tax returns.
  • Managing the day-to-day activities of the accounting team to include review work.
  • Providing advice and guidance to clients on accounting and tax matters.
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and legislation.
  • Managing client accounts and ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial records.
  • Developing and implementing new accounting policies and procedures as required.
  • Proficient in the use of accounting software to include IRIS, Xero, Quickbooks and Sage.
Person Requirements
  • ACA/ACCA full qualification with ideally 2 years' PQE.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in a similar role within a UK based accounting firm.
  • Strong technical knowledge of accounting and tax principles.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
