Accounts Assistant

£28,000 £35,000 (up to £40,000 for the right person)
Full-time, office-based

Looking for your next step in finance? We are looking for an Accounts Assistant to work closely with the Finance Manager. It s a hands‑on role with loads of variety and plenty of room to learn.

Hours:
  • Mon – Thurs: 8.30am – 5pm
  • Fri: 8.30am – 3pm
What you’ll be doing:
  • Purchase ledger & sales ledger
  • Bank and account reconciliations
  • Supporting with month‑end tasks
  • Weekly payroll
  • Using Sage Accounts, Sage Payroll and Eque2
  • A bit of HR admin thrown in (new starter forms, checks, etc.)
What they’re after:
  • AAT Level 3 or 4 ideally
  • AAT Level 2 will be considered if you bring something extra (construction experience or similar)
  • Knowledge of CIS, reverse charge VAT or retentions is a big plus
  • Construction background is preferred but not essential
  • Someone happy working full‑time in the office
Team:
  • You’ll be working in a small, friendly finance function
