Overview

Location: Stoke-on-Trent

Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:30am – 5:00pm (1-hour lunch)

Salary: £25,000 – £28,000 (dependent on experience)

Our client is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Accounts Assistant to join their established finance team based in Stoke-on-Trent. This is a full-time, permanent role offering the chance to be a key part of the finance function, supporting day-to-day operations and senior leadership. Responsibilities
  • Managing the sales ledger, including invoicing and payment allocation
  • Performing effective credit control and maintaining accurate customer accounts
  • Assisting with month-end processes and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Supporting the preparation and coordination of year-end audits
  • Providing financial and administrative support to the Company Director
  • General finance duties as required to support the wider team
Requirements
  • AAT qualified
  • Previous experience in a similar accounts or finance role
  • Strong understanding of credit control, reconciliations, and month-end routines
  • Proficient in Excel and familiar with accounting software
  • Excellent attention to detail, time management, and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
