Accounts Assistant

Howard James Recruitment is excited to be working with a growing company in the fire and security sector, seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounts Assistant to join their finance team. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in maintaining smooth financial operations while working in a supportive and collaborative environment.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Maintaining and updating financial records and databases
  • Processing accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) transactions
  • Responding to internal and external enquiries relating to accounts
  • Supporting the finance team during busy periods or holidays
  • Performing general administrative duties and filing
  • Ensuring compliance with company policies and accurate financial reporting
What We're Looking For
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar accounts role
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel)
  • Experience with Sage accounting software
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage time efficiently and work independently or as part of a team
  • Desirable: Experience with Xero or other financial systems
