Overview

We are very happy to be working alongside our friendly, successful and reputable client as they seek to recruit a Part Time Accounts Assistant to join their team at their offices in Burgess Hill. This is a part time role with 22 hours per week, the hours can be worked over 3, 4 or 5 days per week. The role offers an excellent opportunity to join a very established and reputable company.

Role details
  • Position: Part Time Accounts Assistant (part time permanent)
  • Hours: 22 hours per week, worked over 3, 4 or 5 days per week
  • Location: Burgess Hill, office based
  • Parking: Free on-site parking available for staff
  • Salary: £16-£18 per hour, equivalent to £18,304 - £20,592 per year (based on 22 hours per week)

Responsibilities
  • Maintain daily cash book entries and reconcile monthly
  • Approve and post purchase invoices according to purchase orders
  • Process BACS payments according to supplier terms
  • Provide payroll information to accountants monthly and arrange payments to employees
  • Process monthly journals for depreciation, payroll and prepayments
  • Send monthly statements to customers and chase overdue debts
  • Provide information to accountants for quarterly and annual accounts
  • Collate credit card expenses and post on the accounts system
  • Reconcile and submit quarterly VAT returns
  • Credit check new customers as required
Experience, competencies and knowledge required
  • Previous experience of using Xero accounting software – essential
  • Good background within accounts based roles
  • Happy to work part-time – 22 hours per week, over 3, 4 or 5 days per week (fixed)
