Overview

Job Title: Accounting Assistant

Contract Type: 12 month Fixed Term Contract

Department: Finance

Location: Onsite, 23 Hospital Fields RD York, UK

Hours Per Week: Part Time, 20 - 25 hours/week

Schedule: Monday - Friday, Flexible working pattern between 9am - 5pm | Must be able to meet minimum days of Monday/Wednesday/Friday

Responsibilities
  • Purchase Ledger invoices & credit note processing
  • Preparing Bacs payments
  • Maintenance of Nominal Ledger
  • Bank transaction processing
  • Maintain Debtor & Creditor records
  • Balance Sheet Reconciliations including Bank recs
  • Supplier statement reconciliations and dealing with supplier queries
  • Credit control
  • Maintain Intercompany ledgers
  • Collating monthly overtime & expenses summaries and other payroll tasks as required
  • Supporting the FC in preparing month end/year end accounts
  • Monitor stock prices and assist in stock counts as required
  • Liaise with staff on Finance matters
  • Assist with Sales Ledger processing
  • Analysis of Transport costs
  • General administrative and ad-hoc duties as required
  • The post-holder is responsible for ensuring that all the above processes are performed in accordance with, current Health and Safety Legislation and Human Resources policies and other legislation that is relevant to the responsibilities of the post
Preferred Qualifications
  • Background in Accounts Payable preferred but not needed

  • Proficiency in Great Plains accounting software advantageous but not essential
