Job summary

A leading financial services company based in Greater London is seeking an Accountant for a 12 month contract. The role involves supporting the month-end close process, preparing journals, performing reconciliations, and ensuring compliance with SOX controls. Ideal candidates will be part qualified ACCA with US GAAP knowledge and strong communication skills. This position is set to start in early January 2026 with a daily rate of up to £250.

Qualifications

  • Must be part qualified ACCA with knowledge of US GAAP/IFRS.
  • Experience working with listed companies is ideal but not essential.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential.

Responsibilities

  • Support the general ledger month-end close process of US GAAP books.
  • Produce monthly month-end journals.
  • Conduct balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Assist with intercompany recharges.
  • Perform accruals and prepayments.
  • Maintain fixed asset register.
  • Conduct weekly bank reconciliations.
  • Ensure SOX control procedures are followed.
  • Assist with audit requests and statutory filings.

Our client, a tech business based in the City, is looking to recruit an Accountant on a temporary 12 month basis. They are looking to get someone started in January 2026.

Key responsibilities of the job will include:
  • Support the general ledger month-end close process of US GAAP books
  • Monthly production of month-end journals
  • Balance sheet reconciliations
  • Assist with the intercompany recharges
  • Accruals and prepayments
  • Maintain fixed asset register
  • Weekly bank reconciliations
  • Ensure SOX control procedures are followed and assist with audit requests
  • Assist the Compliance team with the preparation of schedules for statutory filings and financial audits

The ideal candidate will be part qualified ACCA with multi currency experience and ideally knowledge of US GAAP/IFRS. Experience of working with listed companies would be ideal but not essential. Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the capacity to build positive working relationships is essential.
