Job summary

A financial services provider in Seghill is seeking a candidate to manage financial transactions, prepare VAT returns, and support year-end processes. The ideal candidate should have relevant A Levels and strong numeracy skills. In this role, you'll liaise with various teams and assist in preparing annual accounts. You'll also have the opportunity for professional training under the AAT framework.

Qualifications

  • Strong numeracy and analytical skills are required.
  • Understanding of bookkeeping principles and VAT is desirable.

Overview

Role involves recording data to day financial transactions and ensuring accuracy of postings, reconciling bank accounts and supplier statements, processing invoices, expenses and journals, preparing VAT returns, maintaining organised financial records and supporting year-end processes. The role liaises with Directors, the accounts and payroll team and clients and assists in the preparation of annual accounts and tax computations. General admin duties are also part of the role.


Responsibilities


  • Record data to day financial transactions and ensure accuracy of postings.

  • Reconcile bank accounts and supplier statements.

  • Process invoices, expenses and journals.

  • Prepare VAT returns.

  • Maintain organised financial records and support year-end processes.

  • Liaise with Directors, the accounts and payroll team and clients.

  • Assist in the preparation of annual accounts and tax computations.

  • General admin duties.


Training and Qualifications

Training details follow the Apprenticeship standard and AAT framework, including progression through AAT qualifications.



  • Advanced Diploma - AAT Level 3. Advanced builds on knowledge from the Foundation level and may allow starting at this level for those already working in accounts or with prior study.

  • To pass this level you will study five units (mandatory) with four examined individually and a synoptic assessment towards the end of the level.

  • Units include: Advanced Bookkeeping, Final Accounts Preparation.

  • The Apprenticeship standard details Knowledge, Skills and Behaviours including Business Awareness, Ethics, Communication, Embracing Change and Problem Solving; End Point Assessment required.
