The Role

As an A Level Sociology Lecturer, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality, engaging Sociology lessons to post-16 learners, inspiring them to achieve their academic potential. You will work collaboratively with your department to develop stimulating teaching materials, support student progress, and contribute to an inclusive learning environment.

Responsibilities
  • Plan, prepare, and deliver stimulating A Level Sociology lessons tailored to a range of learner needs.
  • Create engaging and inclusive learning activities that support student achievement.
  • Assess, monitor and provide constructive feedback on student progress.
  • Work effectively as part of a dedicated teaching team, contributing to curriculum development and departmental goals.
  • Support college initiatives and student enrichment activities.
Education, Skills and Requirements
  • A degree in Sociology or a closely related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • A recognised teaching qualification (or the willingness to work towards one).
  • GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills, with a collaborative approach.
  • A strong commitment to safeguarding, learner success, and continuous professional development.
