A governmental agency is seeking an individual for an administration support role within the Counter Corruption Unit. This position involves managing the CCU's caseload and supporting counter-corruption efforts in regional prisons. The role requires excellent organizational skills, a deep understanding of corruption-related policies, and the ability to liaise with various stakeholders. Daily travel to two prison establishments is necessary, and some contact with prisoners may be required.
This regional role may require delivering work within other sites in the region based on business need. The role holder is responsible for the following cluster of sites:
• HMP Aylesbury
• HMP Bullingdon
• HMP Grendon/Spring Hill
• HMP Huntercombe
• HMP Woodhill
The role sits in the Counter Corruption Unit (CCU) within the Security, Order and Counter Terrorism (SOCT) Directorate. HMPPS’s efforts to tackle corruption are integral to delivering safe and secure prisons and probation. HMPPS has developed a future strategy for tackling corruption with four objectives: Protect, Prevent, Pursue, and Prepare. These objectives will be delivered at every level through prisons and probation, strengthening frontline resilience. The CCU is being restructured to provide senior operational leaders, prisons and probation teams with an improved counter-corruption service. This role is non-operational with no line management responsibilities and is not rotational.
The role sits in the newly restructured Counter Corruption Unit (CCU). Its objectives are to support prisons and probation in managing corruption threats, in particular helping establishments prevent corruption within HMPPS.
The core service is to provide administration support for the CCU’s counter-corruption caseload for two establishments within the region, working alongside the local counter corruption manager to effectively manage corruption risks in prison establishments. The role will also support the management of known corruptor prisoners in custody to prevent them from corrupting staff. The job holder reports directly to the Regional Corruption Pursue Manager, who reports to the Regional Corruption Pursue Lead. The post holder will not have management responsibilities. This is a regional post and will be based in two establishments, with daily travel to one prison and frequent travel to regional offices. Occasional travel outside the region (e.g., to London) may be required. Contact with prisoners may be required depending on the area of work.
