Overview

2nd Line Support Engineer – Location: Oxford. Salary: Circa 40K - 45K + Bonus + Benefits. This is a varied, challenging role in a talented team where you'll be focused on BAU support, monitoring, and maintenance of live production systems.

Responsibilities
  • Provide BAU support, monitoring, and maintenance of live production systems.
  • Manage infrastructure and applications built on Microsoft Server systems (e.g., Remote Desktop, Active Directory, DNS).
  • Operate in high-availability environments handling thousands of daily users with emphasis on zero downtime.
  • Maintain and update Windows-based systems, including regular Windows Updates and patching.
  • Maintain Microsoft Windows Server components, including IIS and NLB.
  • Hands-on with virtualization technologies such as VMware or Hyper-V.
  • Use monitoring tools to ensure performance and reliability (e.g., PRTG, SolarWinds, Azure Monitor).
