A healthcare provider in the UK is looking for a staff nurse to undertake complex mental health assessments and develop collaborative care plans. The role involves working closely with multi-disciplinary teams and requires relevant nursing registration. Opportunities for professional development are provided, along with a supportive work environment.
This position would be open to an experienced staff nurse looking for new opportunities for growth and development or a current charge nurse/community nurse with B6 experience. This role provides excellent experience and a firm foundation in assessment within a safe environment and in interventions for a variety of mental health conditions. You would be working within a Mental Health hospital with 2 acute wards, 1 PICU, 1 older adult ward and 1 dementia ward. You would also work closely with the crisis team in facilitating the correct outcomes for service users that come into the suite. The role involves coordinating MHA assessments, liaising with Sussex Police, the approved mental health practitioner teams, and local community mental health teams with regards to section 136 and Section 135 Mental Health Act assessments. It will also involve the delivery of focused clinical interventions prior to the Mental Health Act assessment with a view to reducing the use of the Mental Health Act and reducing the need for admissions. Shifts within the suite follow a 12-hour shift pattern with flexible day and night shifts and both full-time or part-time hours.
Note: The Place Of Safety (POS) at Mill View Hospital is recruiting a Band 6 nurse to join our team. The POS (136 suite) consists of a secure outdoor space, separate accommodation, assessment and office space, and has new furniture. We seek to create an environment where service users, nurses, nurse associates, nursing assistants and carers are leaders and actively involved in decision-making about our services.
