About the Role

Connex Education is working in partnership with a fantastic SEND School in Weaverham to help recruit a 1:1 Teaching Assistant to join their team.

In this rewarding role, you will be supporting pupils aged 2-19 years on a 1:1 basis with a range of complex needs including Autism, GDD, Downs Syndrome and PMLD.

The ideal candidate will be caring, empathetic and able to support each individual needs. You will be able to support a play-based curriculum and be able to work as a team with other TA’s in order to support the class teacher in providing a calm and nurturing environment.

The School has fantastic on-site facilities that they utliise as well as taking the opportunity to learn outside the classroom. All staff help children to develop educationally and socially in a supportive environment.

Assignment Details

This 1:1 Teaching Assistant role is full-time, Monday to Friday, (8:30am to 3:30pm), starting in ASAP and continuing for the academic year. There is a chance of a permanent contract.

Responsibilities and Qualifications

• Experience of supporting pupils with Autism and additional needs.
• Be understanding and empathetic with the ability to help children self-regulate.
• Promoting life skills and empowering pupils by building confidence.
• Be engaging and using a child-centered approach.
• Be willing to provide personal care.
• Able to provide a DBS on the update service or be willing to apply for a new one.
