1:1 Teaching Assistant - Harrow

Location: Harrow, North West London

Start Date: ASAP

Contract: Full-Time 8:30am - 4:00pm

A welcoming mainstream primary school in Harrow is seeking a committed 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a pupil who requires additional academic and pastoral support to fully access learning. The role involves providing consistent, nurturing support throughout the school day, helping the pupil build confidence, stay engaged in lessons, and develop independence within the classroom environment.

About the Role
  • Provide consistent 1:1 classroom support to help a pupil stay focused and engaged
  • Support learning across the curriculum, particularly in literacy and numeracy
  • Reinforce classroom routines and expectations
  • Offer encouragement and reassurance to build confidence and resilience
  • Support organisation, task completion, and independence
  • Liaise closely with the class teacher to adapt activities where needed
  • Monitor progress and provide feedback to teaching staff
About You
  • Experience working with children in a school or childcare setting in the UK
  • Confident supporting pupils who need additional learning or pastoral support
  • Calm, patient, and positive approach
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Reliable and committed to supporting pupil progress
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply via Uniform Education)
