Job summary

1:1 Speech and Language Teaching Assistant

A fantastic primary school in the heart of Wandsworth is looking for a Teaching Assistant to support students with speech and language difficulties. You will work with students who have SEN in purpose‑built, modern facilities and support them in the classroom. The school’s SEN provision has been praised highly by Ofsted in their Outstanding report of 2022. This role is ideal for anyone looking to complete an MSc Speech and Language Therapy or a similar masters and to bolster their portfolio.

What will your 1:1 Speech and Language Teaching Assistant role entail?
  • Work 1:1 and in small groups with students who have speech and language difficulties
  • Support students who have ASD, learning difficulties, ADHD, and dyslexia
  • Support SEN/SEND students in and out of the classroom
  • Manage classroom behaviour, provide extra tuition, and offer pastoral care
  • Deliver interventions in phonics, reading, and writing
About You
  • 1st Class or 2:1 Degree from a reputable university
  • Understanding of the SEN framework
  • Experience working with children or young people
  • Keen to make a positive impact on students’ social, emotional, and mental health
  • Confident, patient, and personable

Position Details
  • £105 – £120 per day
