Job Title: 1:1 SEN Learning Support Assistant (Autism)

GSL Education is currently recruiting a 1:1 Learning Support Assistant to work with a child with autism in a highly regarded primary school in Harlow. The school benefits from a dedicated SEN provision, providing a structured, well‑resourced environment with strong staff support.

The Role

This full-time position is available immediately and offers the chance to become a valued member of a caring SEN team. You will work closely with one pupil, supporting their learning, emotional regulation, and social development throughout the school day.

Your Day-to-Day Responsibilities
  • Delivering individualised 1:1 support for a pupil with autism
  • Supporting learning within both the classroom and the specialist SEN setting
  • Helping the pupil access lessons through adapted strategies and routines
  • Promoting independence, engagement, and positive behaviour
  • Working collaboratively with the class teacher, SENCO, and support staff
  • Creating a calm, safe, and inclusive learning environment
  • Has experience supporting children with autism and additional needs
  • Is calm, patient, and confident supporting emotional and behavioural needs
  • Communicates well and works effectively as part of a team
  • Is passionate about inclusive education and child development
  • Holds an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or is happy to apply)
  • Relevant qualifications such as CACHE Level 2 or 3 are beneficial but not essential.
