Job summary

A leading educational recruitment agency is seeking an experienced Secondary English & Maths Tutor to provide personalized tuition to secondary students in Middlesbrough facing academic challenges. The role requires prior experience with SEND, and proficiency in developing tailored lesson plans. Candidates must have a DBS certificate or be prepared to get one. This ongoing position offers a pay rate of GBP25-GBP30 per hour, depending on hours worked, with a focus on rebuilding student confidence in their learning.

Qualifications

• Previous experience with young people having ADHD, SEMH, and students who have been permanently excluded.
• Willingness to obtain enhanced child barred list DBS certificate if not already registered.
• Ability to provide references from the last two years of education/employment.

Responsibilities

• Deliver one‑to‑one or small group tuition in Maths and English.
• Develop and implement personalised lesson plans addressing individual learning gaps.
• Create a supportive and motivating learning environment.
