Job summary

A leading educational service provider in Chippenham is seeking a dedicated 1:1 Autism Teaching Assistant to support a child with Autism. This full-time role requires a compassionate individual, ideally a Psychology Graduate, to help the student engage in classroom activities and foster independence. A passion for special educational needs and flexibility in approach are essential attributes. This position offers a daily rate of £85 to £95.

Qualifications

  • Enthusiastic and empathetic individual with a passion for supporting children with special educational needs.
  • Experience with Autism is beneficial (professional or personal).

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the student on a 1:1 basis, helping them engage in classroom activities.
  • Support the student in building positive relationships with other pupils.
  • Assist the class teacher and offer additional support to other pupils.

Are you passionate about making a positive impact in the lives of children with Autism? Are you a Psychology Graduate, experienced Teaching Assistant, or Carer looking for a rewarding role?

A fantastic Special Needs School in Chippenham are seeking a dedicated 1:1 Autism Teaching Assistant to join their team as soon as next week. In this role, you will work closely with one child who has a primary diagnosis of Autism, as well as other associated additional needs. This is an excellent opportunity for a Psychology Graduate or Teaching Assistant/Carer looking to further their experience with SEND.

Responsibilities
  • Work closely with the student on a 1:1 basis, helping them engage in classroom activities and develop independence.
  • Support the student in building positive relationships with other pupils and aid in both verbal and non-verbal communication.
  • Assist the class teacher and offer additional support to other pupils when needed.
Requirements / Qualifications
  • Enthusiastic and empathetic individual with a passion for supporting children with special educational needs.
  • Recent graduate with a relevant degree (Psychology, Criminology, or Sociology) is ideal.
  • Experience with Autism is beneficial (professional or personal).
  • Empathy and flexibility are important skills.

  • School day: 8:30am to 3:15pm
  • Contract: Full-time, Monday to Friday
  • Location: Chippenham
  • Salary: £85 to £95 per day
  • Start: ASAP
