Role title

Technical Support Engineer

Your role

As a Technical Support Engineer in the Maintenance & Engineering Department, you will report to the Head of Technical Operations, the Technical Support Engineer will provide 24/7 technical support to Aer Lingus 145 operations and MCC. Our Maintenance & Engineering Department helps us to drive Aer Lingus’ ambition by providing technical expertise and support for operational decision‑making.

Your responsibilities as a Technical Support Engineer will include:

  • Provide 24/7 fleet support ensure maximum aircraft availability and reliability.
  • Provide AOG support to ensure efficient and best course of actions are being taken.
  • Act as the CAMO liaison between Aer Lingus 145 and OEMs/CAMO organisation.
  • Propose troubleshooting and resolution actions for technical defects affecting aircraft availability, including repeat item tracking oversight.
  • Review maintenance delays, aircraft technical problems to suggest improvements within Maintenance and Engineering procedures to achieve highest safety standards and dispatch reliability.
  • Attend Daily Technical Operations Call to assist in delay reviews and aircraft readiness.
  • Support the 145 organisations on the interpretation of manual/aircraft documentation.
  • Propose continuous improvement actions across Aer Lingus maintenance and engineering operations.
  • Liaising with engine and other OEMs for any technical issues.
Your qualifications and key criteria

We are looking for an individual with experience / qualifications in the following areas:

  • Engineering university degree or part 66 license.
  • Basic understanding of all the disciplines involved in aircraft maintenance: systems, avionics, structures and engines.
  • Able to make quick decisions and work under pressure.
  • Ability to quickly interpret aircraft manuals.
  • Proven analytical skills.
  • Able to work independently and make decisions.
  • Proficiency in the use of Office apps.
  • Enthusiastic and flexible team member.
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
  • Eligible to live and work in the EU.
  • Hold a current unrestricted worldwide passport.
  • Provide 2 verifiable references.
  • Able to pass a strict airport security vetting procedure which includes a 5 year background check* or be in possession of a current airside pass for the airport this position is based in.
