Position Summary: We are looking for a proactive and strategically-minded Swine Product Manager. This role guides the product lifecycle, strengthens market presence, and aligns internal teams with the needs of our international customer base. The Swine Product Manager reports to the Sales Director.
Responsibilities
- Product Strategy & Portfolio Management: Define and implement the strategic roadmap for the swine diagnostics portfolio in line with global market demands and company objectives.
- Market Intelligence: Track trends in swine health, emerging diseases, regulatory developments, and competitor offerings to inform product development and positioning.
- Cross-functional Coordination: Collaborate with R&D, manufacturing, regulatory, quality, marketing, and sales teams to ensure product success from development to market.
- Customer & Market Engagement: Serve as the primary contact for internal and external stakeholders regarding swine products; foster relationships with key opinion leaders, partners, and customers.
- Technical Expertise & Training: Provide support and training to sales teams, distributors, and clients; contribute to the development of technical documentation and marketing materials.
- Promotion & Awareness: Work with the communications department to develop effective communication strategies, product launches, and promotional campaigns.
Additional Responsibilities
The primary mission is to support the full lifecycle of swine diagnostic products—from initial concept to routine use in the field.
- Upstream of Product Development: Contribute to defining input requirements for new projects assigned to the R&D team, ensuring that product development aligns with market needs.
- Post-Market Launch: Coordinate promotional and communication activities, and provide technical support to direct clients, sales teams, and distributors.
- Cross-Functional Liaison: Act as a key interface between all stakeholders involved in product commercialization—including the development team, field validation coordinators, sales teams, regional representatives, scientific opinion leaders, reference laboratories, and professional organizations.
Market Research & Sales Follow-up
- Acquire a strong understanding of the diagnostic needs within the swine industry.
- Contribute to prioritizing marketing actions and the swine R&D strategy.
Competitive Intelligence
- Prioritize and implement benchmarking activities.
Marketing
- Prioritize marketing actions based on market feedback.
- Write communication materials such as abstracts, advertisements, presentations, and brochures.
- Organize field validation trials and partnerships.
- Participate in communication efforts, including attending conferences and engaging with opinion leaders.
Sales Support & Technical Documentation
- Organize and lead training sessions for sales teams, distributors, and clients.
- Assist teams in understanding how tests are used by veterinary laboratories in different countries to address health challenges.
- Support the Technical Support and Documentation team during the creation of validation dossiers and registrations.
Qualifications
- At least 3–5 years of experience in the swine animal health industry
- Advanced degree (Master’s, DVM, or PhD) in Veterinary Medicine, Animal Science, Biology, or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of diagnostic tools and the swine industry landscape.
- Excellent communication, project management, and strategic thinking skills.
- Fluent in English (written and spoken); fluency in French and/or another language is a plus.
- Preferably based in or near Grabels, France, or willing to travel to Grabels once or twice a quarter (travel expectation about 50% for a remote candidate).
