A leading engineering firm is seeking a Senior Start-up Advisor based in Lyon to oversee commissioning for refining and petrochemical units. Candidates should possess at least seven years of relevant experience in the Oil & Gas sector, a degree in Chemical Engineering, and a fluent level of English. This role requires extensive international travel, approximately 180 days per year, with attractive allowances.

  • Experience in process design is appreciated.

Context :

Axens Project Operations (POP) Business Division mission is to provide advanced technologies, basic engineering design, modular units design and technical services to its customers.

The Start-up department is responsible to advise and support our clients during commissioning and start-up steps of new units and revamped units

We look for Senior Start-up Advisor who will take part to the start-up of units licensed by Axens for our refining and petrochemical customers as well as for new technologies.

Missions :

As a Senior Start-up Advisor, you will be involved in the following activities under the direction of a Chief Start-up advisor :

  • Verify the construction in compliance with Axens’ specifications (equipment and P&ID inspection), supervised catalyst loading in the unit;
  • Issue detailed start-up operating procedures for customers;
  • Provide the technical support needed to ensure a smooth and safe start-up of the units;
  • Provide recommendations to optimize and tune the units operations;
  • Monitor performance test of the unit;
  • Share site feedbacks with start-up team and management team;
  • Contribute to the development of standard documents of the Start-up department.

Depending on your experience when starting, you may quickly be promoted to the position of Chief Start-up Advisor.

Knowledge and Level Required :

With a Degree in Chemical Engineering, Master of Sciences or equivalent, you have a confirmed professional experience of at least seven years on activities of Start-up / commissioning in Oil&Gas sector .

An experience with Middle distillates, FCC, Hydro processing, and Conversion is highly valued. Additional experience with technologies licensed by Axens is also considered beneficial and highly appreciated.

Curious and open-minded, you are motivated in working in an international environment ; you are agile in working in collaborative organizations and multi-cultural company.

An experience in process design is appreciated and a fluent level of English is mandatory (other language(s) is a plus).

You wish to work in an international and technical environment! You are autonomous, pragmatic, flexible!

You are deeply concerned and sensitive to HSE and security-related matters.

You are ready to travel all around the world, on our clients sites (approx. 180 days / year), compensated by attractive allowances!
