Senior Pre‑Sales Engineers/Consultants at EBSCO’s Library Solutions Engineering (LSE) are the trusted technical advisors who secure and preserve SaaS business by pairing deep domain expertise with consultative, value‑led solutioning. We deliver expert technical, workflow, and functional consulting across pre‑sales and post‑sales phases to ensure our solutions (e.g., FOLIO, EBSCO Discovery Service [EDS], and related services) help libraries effectively serve current and future user needs.
What You’ll Do
Core Responsibilities
- Deliver expert technical, workflow, and functional consulting during both pre‑sales and post‑sales phases.
- Assist in and/or lead SaaS product demonstrations and technical presentations tailored to customer needs, with emphasis on FOLIO and EDS where applicable.
- Support the completion of RFPs, RFIs, and security questionnaires.
- Develop, maintain, and innovate demo environments and sandbox accounts.
- Own follow‑up technical questions from prospects and customers.
- Lead discovery and solutioning for mid‑market to enterprise and consortium opportunities.
- Craft persuasive demo storylines; design POCs and custom configurations to de‑risk decisions.
- Collaborate with RSMs and the SaaS Director to shape deal strategy, proposals, and success criteria.
- Serve as a subject‑matter expert on integrations, scalability, performance, security, and data migration/conversion.
- Innovation leadership: Propose, pilot, and roll out improvements that compress delivery timelines, accelerate revenue, and boost engagement with new services/products.
Cross‑Functional Collaboration
- Partner closely with Sales, Product Management, Engineering, Services, and Support to stay aligned on roadmap, features, and priorities.
- Provide structured field feedback to help Product Management prioritize features and service issues; act as a proving ground for prototypes.
- Operate as trusted, solutions‑oriented partners internally to improve customer satisfaction and drive innovation.
Customer Value & Expertise
- Apply deep knowledge of library systems, computer science, and library science to craft pragmatic, scalable solutions.
- Provide post‑sale consulting as a value‑added professional service to maximize long‑term value realization.
- Track industry trends and evolving best practices to offer relevant guidance and troubleshooting.

About You
- Three (3) year college/university degree.
- Fluency in written and spoken French and English.
- Minimum two (2) years of experience and excellence in presenting as well as written communication describing details for technology, Internet, or software application products to internal and external audiences and various levels of management.
- Deep understanding of SaaS, APIs, authentication, cloud (e.g., AWS/Azure), and data integrations (conversion/migration).
- Proven success managing complex sales cycles and aligning solutions to measurable customer outcomes.
- Proficiency with demo tooling, and diagramming/architecture tools.
- Experience providing direct customer service preferably in a consultancy/library setting.
- A level of technological acumen that will enable the ability to identify root causes of technical issues as well as to provide solutions under resource and time constraints.
- Ability to multi‑task and work independently while maintaining team involvement, organized and detail oriented, strong problem solving and analytical skills.
- Two (2) plus years of experience with HTML, JavaScript (jQuery, React/Redux) and/or Node development.
