Overview

Senior Public Affairs Consultant / Team Manager

We are seeking a Senior Public Affairs consultant to lead the Kairos agency to the next level in Paris. This role requires experience in an agency setting, with a minimum of 5 years of experience, and the ability to manage a fast-growing startup environment.

This position involves monitoring, analyzing, and strategizing, as well as providing opinions and advice to clients with ideas and implementation across different industries. Strategic partnerships with government and industry groups are crucial, with an emphasis on understanding governments throughout France and in the EU. The role covers industries such as agriculture, energy, finance, local authority, environment, and more, and includes leading a young team with strong attention to detail. You will work directly with the CEO and be client-facing.

Government relations are central to this work—from liaising with leaders of government and industry to preparing policy briefings for pending legislative actions and shaping how clients can maximize the vision.

The practice delivers integrated services combining Public Affairs, financial communications, and corporate communications, including strategy consulting, research, creative engagement, crisis and issues management, and change communications.

Responsibilities
  • Overseeing the delivery of client projects across public affairs and policy work, ensuring quality and impact
  • Intelligible regulatory and prudential monitoring
  • Ensure excellent, precise monitoring services
  • Having a major in Public Affairs with expertise in strategic/corporate communication
  • Understanding Brussels / EU is a bonus
  • Experience in managing the team and working directly with the CEO and senior stakeholders
  • Strong understanding of agriculture
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced agency environment
  • Prepare government strategies in assigned regions and maintain good relations with city officials
  • Develop relationships with public officials and implement public policies to achieve objectives
  • Coordinate with departments and provide inputs to officials
  • Propose positions to defend in anticipation of texts, to represent the Group’s interests
  • Contribute to building a function that adds measurable value to the business in the short, mid, and long term, aligned with strategic priorities
  • Build internal communications and engagement strategy
  • Develop and maintain relationships with policymakers, regulators, trade associations, think tanks, and industry leaders
  • Be able to work with a start-up entrepreneurial spirit and build a network; client-facing
  • Lead the practice with focus on growing the Public Affairs business; provide senior-level insights to lead account teams on complex client challenges
  • Understand financial markets and economic policies
