This position is based in Rennes, France.

IDnow is seeking a skilled Security Engineer to join our team of 10 security professionals across France and Germany. Our team handles a wide range of security responsibilities, including maintaining and evolving the Information Security Management System (ISMS), securing product infrastructure, managing security monitoring and vulnerability processes, conducting threat modeling and penetration testing, supporting secure SDLC practices, and driving awareness across the organization. We work collaboratively to ensure security is embedded into all aspects of our business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer and support Hardware Security Module (HSM) environments, including processes related to encryption, signing, key lifecycle management, and secure operations.
  • Support and maintain Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) components; contribute to PKI operations with a hands‑on, practical approach.
  • Perform complex assessments, threat models, and advanced penetration tests.
  • Guide teams in identifying and mitigating security risks.
  • Design and refine alerting and detection rules; investigate complex security incidents.
  • Remediate incidents and conduct root cause analysis.
  • Own and improve security tooling; evaluate and introduce new tools where needed.
  • Conduct security design and architecture reviews.
  • Provide actionable security guidance to engineering, infrastructure, and product teams.
  • Ensure security requirements are integrated into system designs and configurations.
  • Participate in vendor evaluations to provide security input.
  • Produce in-depth analysis of complex security issues and propose strategic improvements.
  • Design and deploy advanced security automation solutions.
Preferred Experience
  • Higher education degree in Cybersecurity or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with HSM administration, key management processes, cryptographic operations
  • Experience with PKI components, certificate management, and secure key lifecycle practices
  • Strong background in risk assessment, security monitoring, and incident response.
  • Solid understanding of infrastructure security, application security, and cryptography.
  • Experience in threat modeling, cloud security, and scripting.
  • Strong analytical thinking, problem‑solving skills, and communication abilities.
  • Team‑oriented, adaptable, and proactive in continuous learning.
  • Solution‑oriented mindset with attention to detail in documentation.
  • Creative hacker mentality, autonomous, and self‑driven.
  • Offensive security skills, AWS knowledge, and software development background are a plus.
  • Fluent in English; German or French is appreciated.
