Overview
Orano Med is a biotechnology company owned by Orano. Our ambition is to develop a new generation of targeted cancer therapies by harnessing the unique properties of lead-212, a rare alpha-emitting radioisotope with highly promising medical potential. We are looking for a Scientist in Biology who will report directly to the R&D Director for Peptide Chemistry.
Responsibilities
- Independently preparing, performing, analyzing, summarizing, and troubleshooting studies using individually prepared documentation.
- Perform day-to-day functions and studies in OranoMed's discovery laboratory.
- Drive analytical method development and characterization of candidate drug molecules, primarily focused on various binding assays (SPR Triceratops SPR 64 Bruker), ELISA, cell and bead-based assays, etc.).
- Independently prioritize studies, plan work sequence, and communicate status and results to other scientists and / or supervisor.
- Write standard operating procedures and / or operation aides for routine methods and lab equipment.
- Train other lab personnel and provide guidance in their daily work as needed.
- Prepare laboratory reports.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- PhD in Biological or Pharmaceutical Science and 5+ years of industrial experience.
- Critical understanding of the principles of receptor pharmacology theory and experimental methodologies to assess ligand binding.
- Multiple years of experience independently working with binding assays including SPR.
- Experience working with other relevant techniques including: HPLC, iTLC, Tissue Culture, ELISA, Flow Cytometry.
- Prior experience working on targeted cancer therapy modalities is a plus.
- Good analytical ability and problem identification / problem resolution skills.
- Strong troubleshooting experience.
- Strong oral and written communication skills, as well as excellent documentation and organizational skills.
- Ability to function efficiently and cooperatively within a scientific team.
- Advanced knowledge of computer operations including spreadsheets, word processing, and email.
