Offer Description

Numerical and experimental modelling of reactive solute transport in unsaturated porous media to understand contaminant transport in the subsurface

  • Activity 1: Develop an in-house numerical model and theory for reactive transport in unsaturated porous media.
  • Activity 2: Compare with laboratory-scale experiments using breakthrough curves.
  • Activity 3: Supervise and guide Masters and PhD students working on reactive transport and similar topics.
  • Activity 4: Participate in the development of new capabilities for the research group.

The researcher will join the Transport and Reactivity team in the Geosciences Rennes laboratory, to work on the ANDOUR project funded by the Brittany region and the ERC project CHORUS.

  • Knowledge: PhD in engineering or related field, with post-doctoral research experience in flow and transport in porous media.
  • Know-how: Mathematical modeling, micro/milli-fluidic experimentation.
  • Soft skills: Strong scientific writing and communication skills (preferably demonstrated by published papers)
