Project Engineer – Dimensional and Visual Testing
Westinghouse Electric Company is looking for a Project Engineer to join our European Inspection platform. The role focuses on developing and implementing NDT methods for dimensional and visual inspection processes, primarily in the nuclear sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct studies related to the development and implementation of NDT methods.
- Lead the development of dimensional and visual inspection processes, with potential expansion to other NDT methods such as UT, RT, ET.
- Draft bilingual documentation required for projects (Specifications, Technical Justifications, Inspection Procedures).
- Lead or perform development and qualification testing of processes; train field personnel prior to operations on nuclear sites.
- Provide technical supervision during operations and manage associated deviations.
- Participate in technical and commercial bids.
- Depending on experience, evolve into a technical referent or expert role.
- Travel to workshops, nuclear sites in France or abroad, and occasionally to client premises.
- May work in shifts and/or on weekends depending on projects.
Qualifications
- Master's degree (Bac+5) with a technical focus.
- Expertise in NDT/END and knowledge of physical measurements and materials.
- Significant experience in metrology (manual dimensional inspections, 3D measurements, uncertainty calculations, control jig design, etc.).
- Significant experience in visual weld inspections, both direct and remote.
- Certified VT and/or PT Level 2; additional Level 2 or 3 certifications per ISO 9712 are an asset.
- At least 5 years of NDT experience within high‑safety/security environments.
- Experience in the nuclear sector and with EDF is a plus.
- Autonomous, meticulous, team‑oriented, able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Bilingual in French and English; proficiency in German or Spanish is a plus.
- Valid driver’s license (Category B).
