As part of the ANR Bactoclot project (2025–2028), the laboratory of Dr. Benoit Marteyn (IBMC, CNRS Unit 9002) is recruiting a full-time experienced researcher to contribute to studies on the virulence mechanisms of Shigella, Neisseria, and E. coli. The selected candidate will identify the molecular mechanisms involved in the dissemination of pathogenic bacteria into the bloodstream, despite activation of the complement and coagulation systems.
The project will be carried out at the Institute of Molecular and Cellular Biology (IBMC, University of Strasbourg) in collaboration with a partner at the Institut Pasteur, the laboratory of Dr. Guillaume Dumenil, where intravital imaging approaches will be performed.
The position is based at the IBMC, located on the campus of the University of Strasbourg (close to the city center, easily accessible by public transport, with access to university dining facilities). The IBMC is a CNRS institute, part of the French national research organization employing 30,000 researchers. It hosts more than two hundred researchers, faculty members, engineers, technicians, postdoctoral fellows, and Master's or PhD students. The IBMC comprises 20 research teams, with main research areas in infection, immunity, and biochemistry.
As part of the project, assignments will be carried out at the Institut Pasteur and will be fully covered. Access to videomicroscopy in a BSL-2 environment is provided, as well as access to the Institut Pasteur platforms.
All necessary resources will be provided (office space, computing equipment, instrumentation), including a bench in a laboratory.
The initial contract is for 1 year and may be renewed for up to 3 years.
