A national research organization in France is seeking a skilled researcher to synthesize and crystallize paramagnetic dithiolene complexes. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in organic and coordination chemistry, particularly in synthesis techniques and electrocrystallization. This is a full-time temporary position beginning January 1, 2026.

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in synthesis techniques in molecular chemistry and heterochemistry.
  • Proficiency in synthesis techniques in coordination chemistry, working under an inert atmosphere.
  • Proficiency in electrocrystallization techniques.

Responsabilités

  • Synthesize and crystallize single-crystal phases of paramagnetic dithiolene complexes.
  • Conduct large-scale electrocrystallization and sample shaping for electric measurements.
  • Adhere to good laboratory practices and internal regulations.

Offer Description

The mission consists of synthesizing and crystallizing in significant quantities (min 100 mg) single‑crystal phases of paramagnetic dithiolene complexes with strong absorption in the near‑infrared (NIR‑II), toward the preparation of molecular materials with photothermoelectric properties.

  • Organic chemistry synthesis and heterochemistry (sulfur, selenium) to prepare ligands and their precursors
  • Coordination chemistry, crystal growth, study of molecular properties (electrochemistry, spectro‑electrochemistry, absorption spectroscopies)
  • Large‑scale electrocrystallization and sample shaping for electric measurements

Laboratory work involving the wearing of PPE during manipulations, adherence to good laboratory practices, and compliance with internal regulations.

Qualifications
  • Proficiency in synthesis techniques in molecular chemistry and heterochemistry
  • Proficiency in synthesis techniques in coordination chemistry, working under an inert atmosphere
  • Proficiency in electrocrystallization techniques
  • Additional knowledge in crystallography and optical spectroscopies would be an asset
  • Ability to write technical reports and manage projects involving numerous samples
  • Ability to report effectively and interact with the environment
